A Port Huron man is due in court today for an attack on his mother which left the woman brain dead.
34 year old Matthew Lander was accused in the attack earlier this month on his 54 year old mother Kimberly Lander and her boyfriend, Charles Duncan.
A witness and Lander’s preliminary exam said Duncan woke up and found Lander standing over him waving a machete.
A fight ensued and Lander was pushed out of the house.
The boyfriend then he went to check for his girlfriend and found her unresponsive with injuries to her face.
Doctors declared the woman brain dead.
She was kept alive on life support pending donation of her organs.
