A 67-year-old man has surrendered after a standoff in a van that lasted nearly nine hours behind his Detroit home. The man holed himself up in the van after being shot by officers for pointing a long gun at them.
Bailiffs arrived at the man’s home to serve the man an eviction notice. He called 911 and wanted police to get the men out of his home,
The man pointed a long gun at officers and police opened fire, hitting the man in the rear,
The man ran into a van parked in the backyard.
The man told officers he didn’t want to die and that he would come out eventually.
He finally gave up.
