Investigators are on the scene of an apartment fire which has chased residents in Royal Oak Township.
The building is Royal Oak Towers on Wyoming near 8 Mile. Many senior citizens live in the building, which is 11 stories tall.
One unit was damaged by flames and several others have smoke damage. The bottom two floors are heavily damaged by water.
A few people were taken to the hospital, suffering from smoke inhalation.
The Red Cross is assisting residents.
No word on what caused the fire.
