Good Samaritan Doctor Dies

A doctor who was hit by a car Sunday morning while helping crash victims on I-96 has died .

Dr. Cynthia Ray was one of three people hospitalized Sunday after a crash on eastbound I-96.
Ray died around 9:30 p.m. at a hospital.

Ray and 16 year old Sean English had stopped to help six teens inside a Jeep that had struck the median and rolled over. Another vehicle, driven by a 17 year old, hit English and Ray.

English had to have his foot amputated.
Ray, a pulmonologist at Henry Ford Hospital, suffered a severe head injury.
The funeral for Dr. Ray will be Saturday at St. Kenneth Catholic Church in Plymouth.

The 17-year-old driver who lost control remains in critical condition.
