It’s another economic shot in the arm for the city of Detroit.
The Under Armour store, a retailer which specializes in making and selling high-end sportswear and athletic gear, is opening its first brand house location
in the state today in the downtown area.
It will be located at 1201 Woodward and not far from rival sportswear retailer Nike.
The Nike store opened to large crowds last spring.
Under Armour does have two outlet stores in the state, one in Howell and the other in Birch Run.
Store officials say Detroit is a city on the rebound and Under Armour wanted to be a part of that renaissance.
