DTE Energy to spend $5 million on new Detroit Park

DTE Energy is planning a $5 million park on the west side of downtown Detroit. A vacant lot that DTE Energy owns will be renovated to feature food trucks, concerts and a restaurant.  The vacant 56,000 square-foot lot is bordered by Grand River Avenue, First Street and Plaza Drive. The still-unnamed park will provide DTE’s 3,500 downtown employees and local Detroiters a place much like Campus Martius.

Groundbreaking is expected later this summer.
