Fraser Fracas Over Dog Shot By Cops

A Fraser woman has been charged with harboring a vicious animal.

Her fiance and his brother have been charged in the same case.

Police have been charged with shooting the woman’s dog without cause.
Police had gone to the home of 21 year old Cortney Kleiner the day after Christmas of last year to investigate a report of a stolen car.

A pit bull ran out of the house toward their patrol car.

Police shot and wounded the animal and its leg had to be amputated.

They had gone to the home to question Jacob Garcia and Frederick Garcia about the stolen car.

Police say the brothers and Kleiner had disobeyed orders not to let the dog outside.

Fraser Public Safety officials ruled the shooting of the dog was justified.

Others heard of the story on the web.

One man was so upset he threatened the police officer and was arrested.

More than 100 others have donated over 45-hundred dollars to pay the dogs medical bills.
