A man was taken into custody after a 5-year-old girl was mauled by pit bulls at a home on Detroit’s east side.
The young girl is in critical condition.
The girl was visiting family and friends at a home in the 6200 block of Holcomb Street when the pack of dogs attacked her in the backyard.
Detroit police said man who owns the dogs was cited for a previous biting incident.
The home shares a backyard with another home where dogs also live. It is believed there may have been 10 dogs in the pack. 6 dogs were at the home the girl was visiting with her father.
