Driver Who Caused Fatal Wreck Has Long List Of Offenses

The driver who police say ran a stop sign and smashed into another vehicle in Livingston County— killing 5 people— should not have been on the road. Police say 22 year old Mathew Carrier’s license had been suspended for numerous violations, including drink driving. Police say Carrier ran a stop sign at Argentine Road and M-59 in Osceola Twp. and slammed into the other vehicle.
Police say two of the four people in that car were pronounced dead on the scene: 20 year old Justin Hernandez, and 24 year old Preston Wetzel of Fenton.
The other driver, Albert Boswell, had a restricted license for prior drunk driving convictions.

In the car that was struck on M-59, police say 35 year old Candice Dunn of Sterling Hts., Dunn’s mother, 69 year old Linda Hurley, and 73 year old Jerome Tortomasi of Macomb County, were killed.

Carrier, Boswell, and 23 year old Kyle Lixie are in critical condition.
