Jury Deliberates Trooper Death

The jury is getting the trial of a man charged in the death of a Michigan State Police trooper.
70 year old Charles Warren is charged with three felonies that could send him to prison for up to 15 years in the death of 38 year old trooper Chad Wolf.

Wolf was on motorcycle patrol.

His bike was hit by the rear of a flat bed trailer that was being towed by Warren as he turned onto the Dixie Highway entrance ramp to the northbound I-75 freeway.

Witnesses say Warren continued down the freeway for some 3 1/2 miles with the trooper and his bike trapped under the wheel.

During testimony last week, Warren’s lawyer questioned whether Wolf had been distracted and was driving to close to Warren or that a malfunction of his motorcycle had caused the accident.

State driving records show that Warren has had a dozen encounters with police for his driving between 2007 and 20014 that included a suspended license.
