Killer Arson Fire Defendant In Court

A 55 year old Detroit man charged in setting an apartment fire in which five people were killed is due in court today..

Henry Johnson is accused of starting the fire in an eight unit apartment building on Whittier back on March 8th, a day in which the fire was fanned by 60 mile an hour wind gusts.

The owner of the apartment said Johnson, who lived in the building, may have gotten into a dispute with another tenant before the fire was set.

At a court appearance after his arrest he was ordered to undergo a psychiatric exam.

He’s been charged with felony murder and arson.
