Amazon: We’ll Deliver Jobs, You Send Tax Breaks

Amazon wants to create hundreds of new jobs near Detroit Metro Airport. But it’s asking for generous state tax breaks. Officials with the Michigan Strategic Fund are scheduled to vote tomorrow to give breaks to Amazon for a new distribution center at Wayne County’s aerotropolis project. The state says the facility will cost 140-million-dollars to build. Road and other infrastructure improvements would be required.
It could bring 16-hundred new jobs. Amazon is already building a new facility in Livonia.
