Metroparks Boss In Hot Water

The executive director of the Huron-Clinton Metroparks is the subject of an internal investigation. George Phifer has been placed on paid administrative leave, according to a memo sent to authority staff.

No reason is given for the investigation. Phifer has headed the Huron-Clinton Metropolitan Authority system since 2015. The authority operates 13 parks throughout southeast Michigan. The Metropark board refuses comment.

Michael Reese is serving as acting director.
