Airport Attacker Remains Jailed

The Canadian man who stabbed an airport officer in Flint last week will stay in jail until his case is over.

As U-S Marshalls escorted Amor Ftouhi into the courtroom, Ftouhi muttered ‘Allah Akbar’ , which is what he was yelling when he stabbed the officer at the Flint airport terminal a week ago. Today in court, Ftouhi responded briefly to the hearing magistrate, acknowledging that he understood the charges.

Ftouhi was wearing a medical mask for what the court called an unspecified medical reason. Even in the unlikely event that bond would be set, he would still remain in custody because of an immigration hold.
A preliminary hearing for Amor Ftouhi is scheduled for July 5th. At that time we could learn much more about the terrorist attack and whether he had additional intentions.
