New Cars Found With Illicit Cargo

Authorities are looking into how marijuana worth $1 million was hidden in the trunks of brand new Ford Fusions built in Mexico.
The cars were built at the Ford plant in Hermosillo, Mexico, and were shipped by rail to Lordstown, Ohio.

Police believe the marijuana was packed into the cars and someone failed to retrieve it.

A dealership in Youngstown discovered the marijuana, packed in the shape of half-moons and placed into the wheel wells for the vehicles’ spare tires.

Marijuana was found in 15 cars in four counties in Ohio, and two of the pot-laden vehicles were found in Pennsylvania.
