Closing arguments are scheduled for today in the Macomb County Circuit court trial of a former teacher accused of having sex with a female student.
44 year old Harold Williams has been charged with having sex with the student just days before she turned 18 in March.
However, the girl has told two different versions of what happened.
At a hearing last October, she admitted to having sex with the teacher in a classroom at Fitzgerald High School in late February of early March, before she turned 18.
At his trial last week, she said it happened after she turned 18.
Prosecutors charged at the trial that the girl was coerced to change her story … that she and Williams had stayed in frequent contact after that October hearing.
If convicted of having sex with the girl prior to her 18th birthday, he could face up to 15 years in prison.
