Detroit Riot Movie Debuts Tonight

The city of Detroit is hosting a world movie premier tonight.
The movie is entitled ‘Detroit’ and it is about the five days of violence that left 43 people dead and almost 12-hundred injured.

Some called it a riot … others a rebellion.

It all started 50 years ago this past Sunday as police raided a blind pig on 12th street.

World premiers are typically held in celebrity-filled cities like Los Angeles and New York

But tonight’s unveiling will be held at the Fox theater and is expected to draw media coverage from around the world.

The movie is the work of Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow.

Key cast members are expected to be on hand for tonights showing.

The movie open in theaters nationwide on August 4th.
