A Lansing woman is today getting a chance to live a healthy life, thanks to her friend.
37 year old Anna Kaschner of Lansing had a kidney that was failing.
She said she had sought help through posts on the web for years …saying she was looking for a hero.
She said she was giving up hope when and old friend came forward.
44 year old Tina Stewart of Mason had meet Kaschner almost 10 years ago.
They became friends because they both liked to run.
Through a series of recent medical tests, Stewart learned she was a match for her friends kidney donation.
The transplant surgery is taking place today at a hospital in Grand Rapids.
