Terrorism Unit Nabs Ypsilanti Man

An Ypsilanti man faces federal charges after an FBI terrorism investigation uncovered a cache of weapons.

Yousef Ramadan was arraigned in federal court in a closed hearing, and is held in Wayne County Jail.

The FBI’s report says Ramadan and his family tried to fly to Amman, Jordan aboard a Royal Jordanian Airlines flight but were interrupted by agents.

The court documents say the weapons were found to be illegally obtained, and the serial numbers had been removed.

The documents say the weapons were discovered in a rental self-storage unit.

Yousef Ramadan is charged with knowingly possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number. Ramadan has not been charged with any crime relating to terrorism.
