Detroit Police believe the mother of a baby boy stabbed him to death in what could have been a murder-suicide attempt.
Officers ran into the 31 year old woman in the hallway of the apartment building in SW Detroit, as they were responding to the 9-1-1 call that she made. The woman told them she was going to kill herself, and that dead people were in her apartment. That’s where they found her baby son, less than a year old, dead of stab wounds. The woman had slashing wounds to her throat and stomach.
The woman is in temporary serious condition.
Neighbors say she was quiet, and new to the building. Police will try to determine why the mother killed her baby.
