The next chapter in the ongoing dispute involving Macomb County Clerk Karen Spranger is expected to be written this week.
The county is moving forward with its effort to remove her from office over a residency issue.
The county claims she lied about where she lived when she filed to run for office last year.
A Saint Clair County judge last week granted a motion by the county to file a counter-complaint to a lawsuit previously filed by Spranger against the county on a number of issues.
The county’s lawsuit is to determine if she can legally hold office.
If not, county officials say she should be removed from office.
Officials say they expect to file their suit this week.
