Calling All Rosies!

The battle for ‘Rosie the Riveter’ bragging rights are renewed today.

Michigan and California have been fighting for years to establish the record for the largest gathering of Rosie’s.

The first world record was set in 2014 when 779 Rosie’s showed up at the Yankee Air Museum at the Willow Run airport, which was the sight of the historic bomber plant used in World War two.

That record was broken later that year at the Rosie national historic park in Richmond, California with one thousand-84 women on hand dressed as Rosie.

Willow run reclaimed the record in 2015, but lost it again last year when 2,229 Rosie’s gathered at the California site.

Now, they are trying to bring the title back to Michigan.

Today’s event is being held at the convocation center on the campus of Eastern Michigan University.
