Axle Plant Fills Historic Space

A new axle plant for a new generation of S-U-V’s has opened at the site of an old factory in Toledo that made history.

Dana Corporation has opened a 75-million-dollar axle plant to supply up to 1-million axles per year for the next generation of Jeep Wrangler, an all-new Jeep pickup, the Scrambler, and the new Ford Ranger and Bronco.

The state-of-the-art axle factory is on the same site where Willys-Overland built millions of Jeeps for World War Two. The old Willys plant also made the MB, which was the forerunner of the Wrangler.

Dana has supplied components for the old Jeeps and Wranglers all this time.

The new Jeep products will be built at the Toledo Assembly Complex.

The axle plant will employ 350 workers, giving new life to a hallowed place in automotive history.
