Street artist Shepard Fairey arraigned

Shepard Fairey, a world renowned graffiti artist, was arraigned Tuesday after he turned himself in to authorities to face charges that he vandalized 14 buildings during an earlier visit to Detroit. Fairly’s bond was set at 10% of $75,000. He was charged by Wayne County prosecutors last month with malicious destruction of property. He had been in the city in May to paint a giant mural on the old Compuware building when he allegedly tagged other buildings. Two of the fourteen buildings he allegedly defaced are city-owned properties. Fairey plead not guilty. He’s now scheduled for a July 21 probable cause hearing, then a July 28 preliminary hearing
