Picketers will greet a meeting of the Utica school board tonight.
Utica teachers are unhappy over what they say is lack of progress in negotiating a new contract. Teachers will hold a demonstration outside the Utica District administration building before tonight’s meeting.
Their most recent contract expired last June.
The Utica Education Association says the teachers situation is “dire”.
Hundreds of teachers from Utica and other districts picketed a board meeting in October. Utica is the second-largest public district in the state, and the contract influences teacher negotiations in other districts.
