Macomb Bribe Cases Continue

Another Macomb County official caught up in an ongoing, widespread federal investigation of political corruption is scheduled to be sentenced today.
Facing up to a year and a half in prison is the former chief engineer for the Macomb County Public Works Department is 68 year old James Pistilli of Holly.

He pled guilty to charges of funneling bribes to a Washington Township official.

He is among 19 people that have been charged in a widening scandal involving several Macomb County communities, the Rizzo Trash Hauling company, Detroit towing magnate Gasper Fiore and the Macomb County Public Works office.

Pistilli’s guilty plea was the latest development in the ongoing investigation of public officials accepting bribes for approving contracts with Rizzo’s and Fiore’s companies.
