Suburban Teen In Court For Mother’s Death

A 16 year old Farmington Hills boy awaiting trial in the death of his mother is due in court today for a pre-trial hearing.

Prosecutors charge that Muhammed Al-Tantawi smothered his mother, then dropped her out of a 2nd story window in their home in an attempt to make it look as if she had died from an accidental fall.

Police found the body of Nada Huranieh on the patio of the house on August 21st.

They had gone to the home after receiving a 9-1-1 call from one of her other two children.

Investigators say the boy changed his story a couple of times during their investigation.

An autopsy two days later determined the woman had died from asphyxia and smothering.

Al-Tantawi was then arrested.

A preliminary exam was held and he was bound over for trial
