Study Slams Snyder For Flint

A scathing opinion on Gov. Snyder’s response to the Flint water emergency, from a report by the University of Michigan School of Public Health.
The report finds Snyder bears significant legal responsibility in the Flint water response.the report says the governor had adequate legal authority to intervene more quickly by demanding more information, and ordering state agencies to respond, but he didn’t, according to the report, due to ignorance or wilful neglect, in the words of the report.
It also criticizes the Department of Environmental Quality for failing to notify the public about a Legionnaire’s outbreak. The report was funded by the deBeaumont Foundation, some public health lawyers, and the Network for Public Health Law.
