F-35’s Could Still Land Here

The Selfridge Air National Guard Base could still be in the running as a site for locating a squadron of F-35A fighter aircraft.

The military is moving ahead with an environmental study on the issue even though the the U-S Air Force didn’t pick the Harrison Township base to host one of the next two F-35 squadrons.

The Pentagon announced earlier this month that it will prepare an environmental analysis of all 5 bases that competed for the fighter plane.

A public hearing has been scheduled on the Selfridge environmental study at 5 pm today at the Wheeler Community Center in Clinton Township.
