Gov. Snyder is poised to sign into law an increase in 9-1-1 fees to improve 9-1-1.
The 9-1-1 fees are on your monthly phone bill. Right now it’s 19 cents. The fee will go to 25 cents for landline phones.
A surcharge on cell phones will rise to 5-percent per retail transaction. Right now it’s 2-percent.
Much 9-1-1 technology hasn’t been upgraded in decades.
