A Detroit man is due in court today for a preliminary exam on charges he robbed and sexually assaulted a woman in the parking garage at the Detroit Opera House.
25 year old Darius Jackson is facing several charges including sexual assault.
Police say is was just after 11 o’clock at night on February 26th when the 61 year old woman was approaching her car in the garage.
They say Jackson approached her armed with a gun, grabbed her purse, then forced her into the back seat of the car where she was beaten and sexually assaulted.
He fled and she was able to find a Opera House security officer who called 9-1-1.
Police began searching for the assailant, but Jackson later turned himself in.
