St. Clair Shores police are warning residents about a serial burglar breaking into homes.
Police say a man is responsible for a number of home invasions and attempted break-ins.
They believe the man broke into a house on River Road in St. Clair Shores, forcing open a door and stealing jewelry.
Police say similar attempts were made at other houses nearby.
In each case, residents were home, when someone knocked on the door, and then tried to kick it in.
Police say the suspect is a black male, around 40, believed to be in a gray Jeep Patriot. He may have had a getaway driver.
