Could the Impala and the Taurus go the way of the Edsel and the Rocket 88?
Reports say GM internally has talked about ending production of the full-sized Chevy Impala. And Ford is examining the future of the Taurus, as car buyers continue to go for SUV’s, cross-overs, and pickups. The Wall Street Journal reports that Ford is getting ready to kill the sub-compact Fiesta, and GM will get rid of the Chevy Sonic. Company spokesmen say they know of no such plans. But sales of the smallest passenger cars continue to dwindle.
