Last Call For Macomb Clerk

Anyone hoping to apply for the job of Macomb County Clerk must submit their application by 4:30 tomorrow afternoon.

The county clerk’s job became vacant on March 28th.

Karen Spranger was booted out of office.

A judge ruled she had not been legally elected because she lied on her job application when she said she lived at a home in Warren.

Spranger’s 15 months on the job had resulted in numerous clashes with county officials.

After her firing, Macomb County Circuit Court Chief Judge James Beirnat appointed longtime employee Kathy Brower as interim clerk.

The full court will meet on April 13th to choose someone to fill out the remainder of Spranger’s term until the next election.

Applications for the job must be submitted to the courts Administration Office.
