Making the riverfront more user-friendly.
A design team selected for a 50-million dollar renovation of the West Riverfront Park in downtown Detroit will be revealed today.
Four teams of designers had been selected last summer to come up with a concept for the 22 acre space between Rosa Parks Boulevard and 8th street.
Some of the ideas that had been put forth included a new lagoon for canoes, kayaks and fishing, a sandy beach and a pedestrian bridge.
