Detroit Police officer Lonnie Wade has been given probation as
part of a plea deal for beating up a suspected shoplifter at a Meijer’s store last year. Wade was working as a security guard at the store. It turned out the man he assaulted was not a shoplifter. Wade whacked him with his baton, knocked him out, knocked out some teeth, and broke his jaw. The victim sued Wade and the city of Detroit.
