Detroit teachers pay will be boosted, by the district recognizing all the years of experience for current and incoming teachers. The Detroit school board also approved bonuses to about 2-thousand teachers who are already working in the district. The Detroit district has a hard time attracting experienced teachers for vacancies, partly because a teacher is only given credit for 2 years of experience for the pay scale, regardless of how much experience they have.
