Another sentencing is scheduled for today in the ongoing federal investigation into corruption in several communities in Macomb County.
70 year old Chuck Rizzo Senior pled guilty to the charges against him and has been cooperating with the government investigation which toppled his family trash hauling empire.
Prosecutor’s say Rizzo, his son Chuck Junior and towing magnate Gasper Fiore stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from the trash company … using the money
to pay bribes to politicians in making sure that the Rizzo company was awarded lucrative trash hauling contracts.
The elder Rizzo had faced up to 17 years in prison.
Because of is cooperation, prosecutors have recommended a sentence of just over 6 years
His son was previously sentenced to some 6 years in prison.
Fiore is to be sentenced in August.
