Suburban Officials Team Up on Transit Plan

County executives of Oakland and Macomb are lining up against a regional public transit plan being proposed by Wayne County and Detroit officials, and the Regional Transit Authority.
Patterson says a plan boosted by Warren Evans and Detroit mayor Duggan for a new regional transit tax would give Detroit 500 percent more in services than Detroit taxpayers would pay under that plan.
The RTA plan would greatly expand bus service in the region, and would give financial support to the Q Line streetcar on Woodward.
