Sentencing For Murder, Body Never Found

A western Michigan man is scheduled to be sentenced today for the murder of a woman whose body has never been found.

48 year old Jeffrey Willis was convicted of first degree murder in the death of 25 year old Jessica Heeringa.

The mother of a 3 year old son disappeared in 2013 while working as a gas station clerk in Norton Shores, near Muskegon.

Willis is currently serving a life prison sentence in the 2014 shooting of jogger Rebekah Bletsch.

Prosecutors say Willis had computer files containing information on both women.

While Heeringa’s body has never been found detectives were praised for their work over several years in building the case against Willis.
