Auto Industry Punches Back At Tariffs

The auto industry is swinging back at tariffs that are threatened by President Trump.

The two most powerful auto trade associations appear to be together in condemning any tariff plans.
The Association of Global Automakers says the industry would be harmed by higher prices, lower demand for products, and retaliation.
The association predicts significant job losses in the U-S. The global association represents foreign automakers that operate in the U-S. They own the newer factories in the southern auto belt, that employ tens of thousands.
The Alliance of Auto Manufacturers, which include the Detroit-3, warns that a 25-percent tariff would add about 58-hundred dollars to the price of affected vehicles. The domestic companies are not seeking help against the imports.
