June was a strong month for auto sales.
Automakers report slight gains overall for June. Fiat Chrysler had the biggest percentage gain— 8-percent. Jeep continues to rack up huge gains, with a 19 percent increase.
Ford’s 1-percent increase was led by the F-150, which is on pace for a record sales year.
General Motors no longer reports monthly sales figures, but GM says it had a 4-pt-6 percent increase for the 2nd quarter. Silverado gained nearly 16-percent.
Toyota, Nissan, and Honda had slight gains.
As usual, pickups and SUV’s dominated, and passenger cars were off.
Analysts say the annual selling rates are just below 17-million vehicles.
