Reserve Deputy Faces Drunk Driving Crash Charges

A preliminary exam is scheduled for today for a man charged in a fatal car crash.

The man charged is a reserve deputy with the Wayne County Sheriff’s department.
Prosecutors say 58 year old Michael Davis of Detroit was driving his truck while under the influence of alcohol when he hit and killed a man on a motorcycle.

30 year old Daniel Starks of Detroit was hit at about 11:30 the night of June 23rd as he was riding his bike near Grand River and Myers.

Police who arrived at the scene said Davis’ speech was slurred and that they found a flask in the front cup holder of his truck.

The charge against him is a 15 year felony.
