Janitors who work in public buildings in the Detroit area will demonstrate today, threatening a strike to try to get more money. They are members of the Service Employees International Union. They work in numerous government buildings, from Cobo to Detroit Metro, the Ren Cen, and Detroit Public Schools.
They say they currently make $9.45 per hour. They want $15 per hour in the next three years.
