Ford Buys Old Building For New Complex

A major piece of Ford’s plan for a huge campus in Detroit’s Corktown is now in place.

The surrogate company assembling land for Ford has closed on the deal to acquire the old Alchemy building on Rosa Parks Blvd.
The price, not revealed, according to Crain’s Detroit Business.
The Alchemy building used to be a brass factory. The property covers nearly 4 acres and is bounded by 4 streets.
Much of it is dilapidated.
The property is near the old Michigan Central Train station, the centerpiece of Ford’s plan to redevelop a number of sites for autonomous and electric vehicles. The Alchemy building will be torn down, to make way for a new 4-story office and laboratory building.
