Police Give Advice On Internet Transactions

Beware of the dangers of the web.

The warning comes from Canton police.

An Inkster man is due in court today on charges he took part in a bogus internet sale.

Police say 18 year old Mujtaba Nazar Al-Hakin had made contact with an unknown person on the internet to sell him a table and phone.

The two agreed to meet in a restaurant parking lot in Canton.

They met.

The victim turned over some cash, but when he opened the package he was given, found out that it did not contain the items he had paid for.

Luckily he was able to get Al-Hakins license plate number and he was arrested a short time later.

Canton police recommend anyone buying or selling items with someone they don’t know, agree to meet in the lobby of the police department.
