From Frenchtown to Maybee, from Carleton to Gibraltar, a cleanup is underway.

Homes and other buildings were damaged, and power lines were brought down by falling trees, in a large swath of strong storms and suspected tornadoes in parts of Monroe and southern Wayne counties.

The National Weather Service believes it was one, possibly two E-1 tornadoes. They’ll do an assessment today.
Parts of Monroe County got nearly 3 inches of rain.
Power outages total several thousand in Monroe and in the Gibraltar and Flat Rock areas.
