Gunfight Puts Detroit Man Prison

A Detroit man charged in a shoot-out with Detroit police officers is to be sentenced today.
22 year old Javonte Walker is facing 15 to 30 years in prison.

Police were investigating an armed robbery on the city’s east side in late December of 2016.

They tried to stop Walker’s SUV, but he sped away, firing at two officers.

Police fired back and Walker was wounded.

He was scheduled to go on trial earlier this month, but then agreed to plead guilty to two counts of assault with intent to murder.
