UPS Plans ‘Brown Friday’ Jobs Outreach

The job market is tight. Employers are competing for workers, especially part-time and entry-level employees. That’s where U-P-S enters the competition for holiday seasonal help.

Parcel service giant UPS will hold Brown Friday— a seasonal hiring blitz. UPS vice-president Stefan Harris says to  look for a job, go to UPS jobs dot com. UPS will hire 40,000 seasonal workers, about 2,400 of them in metro Detroit.

Harris says UPS will be hiring seasonal help for a variety of jobs.

For those who have their eye on a full-time job, Harris points out that 35-percent of the UPS workforce in the U-S started out as seasonal employees…. like Harris himself, who is a vice-president, and the CEO of the company, who began as a seasonal part-timer in Tennessee.
