Closing arguments have been delivered in the 2nd degree murder trial of former Michigan State Police Trooper Mark Bessner.
Bessner has been charged in the death of 15 year old Damon Grimes.
Bessner tasered Grimes, who had been driving his ATV illegally in the street on Detroit’s east side in August of last year.
State police officials say Grimes did not obey an order to stop.
Bessner, in violation of state police policy, used his taser on him.
Grimes lost control of his ATV and crashed into a parked flatbed truck.
He died from his head injuries.
Bessner testified last week that he though the youth was an adult and that he was reaching for a gun, and that he tasered him in self defense.
